Educating our community about issues that are important is one of the many things that the men and women of the Roanoke City Sheriff's Office enjoy doing. Sgt. Fannin spoke to the Diner's Club last week about active shooter awareness. His presentation was tailored to the group at Morningside Manor. There was great discussion that was scenario based. Then, later in the week, Master Deputy Tim Young spoke to the group, "Soup for Seniors," at Pilgrim Baptist Church about crime prevention and safety. This generally broad topic covered things such as scams, how to not become a victim and other specific topics to the audience.
We had such a great time with both of these groups and are looking forward to our next community engagement!
