Roanoke Parks and Recreation Releases New Trail Maps

August 17, 2017 whitney

Did you know that Roanoke’s trail system is one of the fastest-growing public trail networks in America?

Aside from our monthly trail work days, Roanoke’s dedicated volunteers are working the trails every Wednesday and weekend. When they’re not building new, sustainably designed trails for everyone to enjoy, our volunteers stay busy by removing downed trees, putting up signage, cleaning out muddy or rutted out sections of trail, and more – all in a collective effort to keep Roanoke’s trails in tip-top condition! We wanted to make it easy for trail users to navigate Roanoke’s extensive mountain biking, hiking, and equestrian trails, which is why we developed new printable maps, updated kiosks, and new trail signage for two of our most frequented parks: Carvins Cove Natural Reserve and Mill Mountain Park
